We first met Joy and Brian at a Starbucks in Hampton Roads, VA… they were looking for a wedding photographer. This is a couple that has become extremely special to us over the last year.

We’ve met them at several weddings we’ve photographed since then. But since they found us back in February and booked us for their May 2014 wedding, they’ve also become friends.

Not only the type of friends that you meet in the store and exchange greetings with, but the kind that lend you their pickup truck and a helping hand when you need to buy some new furniture.The type of friends that help support your addiction to sushi.

We already photographed their engagement session back in April. Joy is a nurse and Brian builds freaking submarines. And they are genuine. Not the kind of people you meet everyday – and we love that about them.

We were honored when Joy and Brian “spread the word” about our business to their friends… who also booked us based on the trust they have in these two.

When Tyler of The Girl Tyler asked us to contact a couple we’d already worked with for our video, Joy and Brian were the first couple we thought of. And they said yes!!

These two actually took off from work to be there for us … so we hope these photos are a small thank you.

Technically, this is engagement session part two – a rarity – photographed at Yorktown Beach, just across the river from beautiful Gloucester County where Joy and Brian live.

We used Fuji400h film developed by Richard Photo Lab.
