Sarah’s is pretty cool. And silly. No, she said so her self on her slick looking blog, Coffee Rings and Southern Things.
But that’s great for us – ’cause we love to be silly.
Another thing you can tell from reading her blog – is just how sweet and humble she is.
She touched our hearts when she told us she was nervous about meeting us…
What she doesn’t realize… is that we’re still nervous too, when we meet other photographers, when we meet new clients..
That whole feeling of butterflies in the stomach?
We get that too.
We were honestly nervous to meet her… just to give her “a bit of advice…” i.e. a mini-mentoring/portrait session.. we’re still learning ourselves. Most photographers in Virginia probably consider us “green behind the ears” (that’s a German expression) as we haven’t been around too long.
But we were excited. Excited to share what we knew, excited to show her a few techniques, excited to make a new friend.
She’s been into photography since she got her hands on her dad’s trusty old AE-1 in high school. By the way, look at the condition of that camera! They don’t make them like those anymore…
Her favorite gear includes her 100mm 2.8 L lens and a Canon 7D.
We asked her what her goal was. Some people say, “To make my living off of doing just photography.”
While I’m sure she wouldn’t have anything against that, her answer just she’d like to be more “knowledgeable” and grow more “creatively.”
What a humble, wise thing to say…
