When people describe Amanda Hedgepeth, the word that you hear over and over again is “inspirational.”
It’s synonymous with the brand that she’s built over the past 3-4 years.
We’ve been blessed to build a friendship with her this past year and a half, working together with her on several weddings while she was pregnant with her and Mike’s second child, Ellie.
Not that she needed much help – her first year in business she shot most of her weddings while expecting Cammie.
Through it all, her business has not only survived, but thrived.
She’s become one of the most… well, inspirational people in the industry and one of the biggest wedding industry names in Virginia Beach.
When you get to know her though, it’s not surprising as to why.
She’s one of those rare kinds of people that just genuinely is “that” nice.
We’re certainly not immune to being inspired by her.
And we’re happy to call her a friend.
We visited with her recently just to catch up and captured a few moments on film. Developed by Indie Film Lab.

Back in August when we photographed our first all-film, Hochzeitswahn bridal boudoir editorial (link), Carina’s brother was visiting from Munich.
He came along on the shoot and helped document some behind-the-scenes footage on our DSLRs since they weren’t being used.
We were browsing our hard drives this past weekend and came across the folder.
Maybe he has a future as a cinematographer? 😉
We thought we’d share because even though these are like our shaky-cam “home movies,” we know we LOVE behind-the-scenes videos from other photographers.
We also love how it shows some of the goings-on with our wonderful team, and <3
We have a few big projects coming up this year and we’ll be sure to incorporate some behind the scenes footage!
We cut this down from about 15 minutes of video. Enjoy!

Devon’s and Michael’s Williamsburg Winery engagement session had the good fortune of falling on one of the first spring-like days of the year.
We loved rediscovering the Winery and the wine cellars with them. We’re so excited about the chance to photograph such a gorgeous couple at one of our absolute favorite venues this year!
These two adore Williamsburg!
After leaving the Winery, we walked through the Colonial area of the city to where Mike asked Devon to marry him.
We love engagement sessions where every new location has a story of special significance tied to it.
Their lives were interwoven with every street and corner we passed.
Whenever we visit Williamsburg, we’ll think of these two now and the beautiful images we made with them. <3
These two are getting married in the lovely city this October where they’ve already begun building a life together.
Devon and Mike, thank you so much for inviting us to take part in your special day! October can’t get here fast enough!

Williamsburg engagement photography
We photographed Sarah and Abdullah’s engagement session in one of our all-time favorite places, Colonial Williamsburg. Although there are few flowers blooming in February, everything was just perfect.
The two of them had all the fun and love you need to make beautiful photos.
Sarah and Abdullah have been a inseparable for a long time. We loved how they just acted naturally; like old friends.
They will finally get married this fall!!!
When a couple tells us that their photographs are one of the most important parts of their wedding day, we just know it’s going to be epic. We are so excited about their intimate wedding near Washington D.C. and already know that Abdullah is going to have a hard time not crying when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time at their first look!<3
