We’re thankful…

Day 13) that life is never boring. At the beginning of this week we were both feeling icky/sick and only planned on editing photos. We ended up meeting with two amazing couples, shooting a portrait session to show off some hairstyles for Hair by Alice, and meeting another photographer. Today, a wedding photographer we look up to contacted us and invited one of us to help her shoot a wedding this Sunday, and we’re also meeting another fantastic photographer friend to catch up this weekend. Life is lovely.

14) that our go-to film lab is awesome. Seriously, Richard Photo Lab – check em out.

15) We’re thankful to have had opportunities to shoot more and more film! This past year has been so amazing & SO much fun. Our poor Canon DSLRs, as awesome as they are, are seeing less and less use in favor of our Contax 645s.

Here’s a portrait session we photographed of Rose, an aspiring model based out of Norfolk. We mainly wanted to test out fuji neopan (b&w) film! Not something we shoot often, but maybe that will change… 😉

Two weeks or so after releasing our video, we are thrilled by the success it’s been!

Yesterday when a 90-years-young lady from church came up to us and commented on the video, we knew it had really gotten “out there!” Oh – and our dear friend Miss Mary liked it!! 🙂

The video would not have been possible without The Girl Tyler, Joy and Brian, Cindy of Keswick Vineyards, and finally, April and Jake.

April and Jake aren’t officially engaged yet (emphasis on yet), but they’re two adorable CNU lovebirds. April modeled for us last year on one of our first American photoshoots and we had been looking for a chance to work together again. This turned out to be just perfect!

Kelsi and Michael are soulmates who are taking extraordinary to a new level…
Next year, they’re bringing two families together to make a whole new one…
It was perfectly fitting that they brought their children along on the Smithfield e-session to help announce their engagement to the world!
This Chesapeake couple is getting married next April… and we couldn’t be more excited for them.
It’s not only two people coming together… it’s two families coming together…
And it’s going to be amazing.

Fun… laidback… country… and wonderful. That’s how we best could describe these two.

Morgan is a Gloucester girl. Mark is a Gloucester guy.

They put so much time and thought into making their Gloucester Point Beach wedding spectacular…

But keeping it country, he wore sandals and she went barefoot.

Perfection.

When Morgan booked us, she said, “I knew when I saw your photos, you were my photographers.”

And we could not have been more blessed to meet such a wonderful couple.

When we photographed their engagement session, they danced with each other in front of the camera and kissed as if we weren’t there.

Morgan and Mark inspired us.

When we’ve needed inspiration, we’ve gone back and looked at their engagement photos.

Their love is what does it.

During their wedding, there were many moments which stood out. 

The dancing… the sparklers… the fireworks…

But none touched us more than when Morgan’s dad escorted his daughter down the aisle… and Mark took her hand..

And of course, the kiss.

Morgan and Mark, thank you so much for inviting us to take part in your special day. It was unforgettable.

Your love will continue to inspire us.

Jeff and Sarah are another couple who found us from just across the York River in rural Gloucester County, Virginia.

Morgan and Joy, two of our brides, introduced them to our work…

(Seriously, our clients are the best!! Love you guys! <3)

They’re still in love after seven years of being dedicated to each other.

Jeff just happens to manage one of our favorite places in Virginia – “The Farmer’s Daughter” farmer’s market on Route 17 in Gloucester.

He loves working on a farm and with fresh, locally grown food almost as much as he loves her. “It’s not even a job, it’s a way of life.”

Sarah has already started her own business too… they’re young, but they’re definitely hard workers.

Jeff and Sarah are planning a destination wedding on an island getaway in the Bahamas.

It’s going to be very private and beautifully romantic.

As much as we’d like to photograph their wedding, we’re going to be busy in Virginia…

But whoever does is going to be one lucky photographer…

We’ll be seeing each other again soon though… there’s no other place to get better fresh produce than the Farmer’s Daughter in our opinion…
